Social Media Breakfast was founded by Bryan Person in August 2007 as an event where social media experts and newbies alike come together to eat, meet, share, and learn. Marketers, PR pros, entrepreneurs, bloggers, podcasters, new-media fanatics, and online social networkers are all welcome to attend.
The breakfast series began in Boston and has now spread to more than 20 cities throughout the United States and around the world. It is being brought to Tech Valley by Amy Mengel and with help from Patrick Boegel and generous sponsorship from All Over Albany and SUNY Cobleskill.
Tech Valley's first event will include networking and a panel discussion. Based on the feedback and questions received through the registration process, we'll ask speakers to touch on a variety of topics like social media strategy and monitoring, key social media tools, and case studies of effective use of social media. Mike Germano is a co-founder of Carrot Creative where he serves as President and Chief Creative Officer. Carrot Creative has given Mike the opportunity to work on companies such as MLB.com, The Onion, NHL, MTV, Unilever and many others. Mike Lectures at Quinnipiac University teaching "Business 2.0: Business behind Web 2.0" Mike also serves as the Marketing Advisor for The Center for University Based Enterprise. He has created and launched several Web 2.0 startups and is nationally recognized for his innovative approach of leveraging the internet. Mike’s most impressive achievement was his ability to use the internet in his campaign and, once elected, in his public policy. As one of the youngest elected officials in the nation, Mike’s use of the internet to inform and organize his constituents received national recognition. Mike Holds a BS in Marketing and Minor in Political Science from Quinnipiac University.
